Third „International Symposium on Development Methodology“
in Wiesbaden
In cooperation with Prof. C. Beidl, Institut für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen, Technische Universität Darmstadt, AVL has hosted the 3rd International Symposium on Development Methodology. The theme of the Symposium, held on November 10th & 11th, 2009 at Wiesbaden Kurhaus, was the application of Development Methodology in the field of engine and powertrain development.
The organizers as well as the approximately 170 participants from more than 50 international companies deemed the Symposium a great success.
Contributions were provided by groups such as Bosch, Volvo, Mercedes-AMG, Honda, Renault, Porsche, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Volkswagen, MTU, KTM, Mazda, BMW as well as from prominent universities and engineering companies.
Current and future development tasks in the field of engine and powertrain development require increasingly efficient and highly complex development tools and methods, in order to deal with the tasks in a reasonable timeframe. Given the current economic tension, the topic development methodology plays a particularly important role with regards to target oriented development processes.
Therefore, the symposium put the emphasis on the following topics: development processes and development methods, development environment and tools as well as the integration into the development process and the successful implementation.
