Welcome to Wiesbaden
Our symposium takes place at one of the most beautiful locations one could imagine: the Wiesbaden Kurhaus (spa). It is the focus of social events in Wiesbaden and offers an altogether appropriate setting for our event. In addition to the assembly rooms, the Kurhaus has a gourmet restaurant and the casino.
Framed by the theatre colonnade, the Kurhaus and the Kurhaus colonnade, the longest column-supported hall in Europe, it offers a most inviting walk. Hidden behind the colonnades lies the entrance to the Hessische Staatstheater (State Theater of Hesse), one of the grandest buildings in Wiesbaden.
This Renaissance-style building as well as the Kurhaus were constructed under the presiding control of Kaiser Wilhelm. Not very far from the Kurhaus is Wilhelmstrasse, the promenade of Wiesbaden. The well-maintained buildings of the principal city of the province of Hesse give Wiesbaden an air of refinement and elegance. The city center offers culture and heritage. From 1806, Wiesbaden was the principal city and residence of the Dukes of Nassau. The treasures of Wiesbaden lie mainly underground, in the form of the healing waters of the hot springs, and in the vaulted cellars of the longstanding, traditional sparkling wine production business.
