Optimization of Complex Powertrains –
a Challenge for the Future

13 / 14 November 2007 – Kurhaus Wiesbaden

Review

On November 13 and 14 2007 the 2nd International AVL-Symposium on Development Methodology took place in Wiesbaden, which subject was „Optimization of Complex Powertrains – a Challenge for the Future”.

More than 200 members of the automotive industry and R&D attended the Symposium.

A great number of lectures provided the attendees with information about the current/latest applications in the field of Development Methodology. The topics dealt with the application of methodology in the domains of simulation, test planning, automation, modelling up to optimization of data handling.

As well as for the 1st Symposium in 2005, this time we also were able to win high-ranking representatives of industry and R&D as lecturers.

Such the opening lecture „Key Aspects in Powertrain Development” was given by Dr.-Ing. Leopold Mikulic of Daimler AG, Stuttgart.

To finalise the two-days-event Mr. Rémi Bastien (Renault) gave his lecture „Requirements and Solutions for Future Powertrain Calibration – the OEM View”, which enthused the whole audience in an impressive way.

As after each presentation the possibility to exchange ideas was given, a great many of interesting discussions arose.

Even the opinions in these discussions partly were differing, all participating OEMs, sub-suppliers and engineering service providers agreed on the complete success of the Symposium.
